Living in the digital age and relying increasingly more and more on our technology, our livelihoods constantly dip in and out of reality. We live in a very physical world, yet much of our importance is placed in non-physical digital data.

I wanted to represent this play between physical and non-physical, real and not real as well as a sense of forms being in flux, constant change and fragmentation.

The pieces in this collection play with the very traditional jewellery form of the chain necklace and links, whilst introducing hollow forms and negative space into the normally solid shapes. Particularly with the necklace piece, the chain links appear to disappear into barely visible wire mesh framework structures as it goes up the neck. This gives the illusion of it fragmenting into something non physical like data.
